Can a hormonal IUD like Mirena worsen lipedema swelling and pain?

My gynecologist suggested Mirena, but my lipedema symptoms already seem to increase around my period. When I searched whether hormones affect lipedema, I got even more confused. Do people with Mirena notice changes in leg swelling, pain, weight or appetite? How should this be considered in relation to lipedema?

I hesitate to link everything hormonal to lipedema, but ignoring it completely does not feel right either. Weight, appetite, mood and cycle pattern all get mixed together.
