Why does easy bruising happen in lipedema, and when should it be taken seriously?

Sometimes bruises appear on my legs even though I do not remember hitting them. They are mostly on the outer thighs and above the knees. Is easy bruising normal in lipedema, or should another vascular issue be considered?

Are the bruises painful for you? Mine are sometimes tiny, but they hurt when touched.

Taking photos and dates helped me track it more clearly. Noting where it is, how long it lasts, and whether there is pain can help.

I would not explain every symptom only by lipedema. If it is one-sided, suddenly worse, red, or hot, I would take it more seriously.

Tenderness and easy bruising may be seen in some people with lipedema; however, every bruise should not automatically be attributed to lipedema. New widespread bruising, marked one-sided swelling, warmth, redness, blood thinner use, or additional signs such as nose or gum bleeding should be evaluated. See why bruising happens in lipedema.

Symptoms should be evaluated together, and new one-sided swelling, redness, warmth, chest pain, or shortness of breath should not be delayed. See lipödem belirtileri ve ayırıcı tanı.
