Can manual lymph drainage and walking be combined in lipedema?

Manual lymph drainage was recommended to me, but I was also told to walk during the same period. Are they more effective when combined, or could that tire the legs more? I also do not know whether increased pain after massage is normal.

For me, doing both in the same week felt better, but I did not increase the intensity too much. I kept walks short and avoided very strong pressure during massage. I think the dose matters here.

If there is bruising or clear pain after massage, as if too much pressure was applied, I would not simply accept it as normal. Gentle application is usually better tolerated.

If I walk on the same day as drainage, I keep it lighter. The next day, I adjust the duration based on how my legs respond. Gradual progression felt more reasonable than suddenly increasing everything.

My physiotherapist also warned me not to turn it into a harsh massage. Gentle and regular work was easier for me to tolerate.

Splitting movement into smaller parts helped me more than forcing one long session. It felt less discouraging.
